James Halliday reviews Stellenrust Chenin Blanc

This review was carried by the Australian Wine companion  – well come – one up for Chenin Blanc

StellenRust 44 Chenin Blanc 2008
Glowing green-yellow; barrel-fermented, 44 signifying the age of the vines in 2008 – the ’09 will be branded 45. I guess it is a simplified version of the labyrinthine Bin number system of Lindemans’ Hunter Valley wines. The barrel ferment has imposed a solid footprint on the wine, with honeyed flavours offset by strong acidity on the finish.
89 points; drink to 2013; 12.5% alc; Diam
