SA #Wine last in USA mobile device research – #WOSA will ponder

In a hot-off-the-press wine survey into 120000 US consumers use of mobile devises, Hello Vino reports that SA was last on the US consumers mind.

Hello Vino app users most frequently requested wine brand recommendations from California, with both Napa and Sonoma appearing in the top five regional requests during 2010.

Hello Vino users are primarily based in the U.S., which may contribute to the strong interest in domestic wines. Other popular countries from which consumers requested recommendations include Italy, France, and Argentina, with an increasing interest in wines from Chile and Spain.

In grocery, food and liquor stores tracked by The NielsenCompany, domestic wine sales continued to grow as of February 2010 while imports continued to struggle.

Concerning specific regions, Argentina and New Zealand emerged as growth leaders, while Italy, Australia, and France remained at the top of the list, but did not perform as well.[10]
