Decanter World Wine Awards – what did SA win

The announcements for this year’s Decanter World Wine Awards were yet again eagerly anticipated by many of South Africa’s wine makers and wine enthusiasts alike. The event was held on the 17th of May at the London Trade Wine Fair and South African wines, once again, did us proud!

The DWWA Top Ten’s are equally prestigious categories as they essentially portray the best of the best from around the world. South African wines featured in six of the Top Ten categories:

2. Top 10 Syrah/Shiraz’s: Waterkloof’s Circumstance Syrah, 2008.
3. Top 10 Sauvignon Blanc’s: Kleine Zalze, Family Reserve Sauvignon Blanc, 2010 and Quoin Rock, The Nicobar, 2009.
4. Top 10 Sweet Wines: Nederburg, Winemaster’s Reserve Noble Late Harvest, 2010.
5. Top 10 Cabernet Sauvignon’s: Longridge, Cabernet Sauvignon, 2008 and Rickety Bridge, Paulina’s Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, 2008.
